London terrorist attacks

Lord, have mercy!

My feelings are a mix of anger, fear, upset, and I don't know what else.

What's wrong with these people? May God have mercy on them because I'm having a lot of difficulty right now.

May those who have been hurt find healing and comfort and may the souls of the departed, through the mercy of God + rest in peace.

O God, who art the author of peace and lover of concord, in knowledge of whom standeth our eternal life, whose service is perfect freedom; defend us thy humble servants in all assaults of our enemies, that we, surely trusting in thy defence, may not fear the power of any adversaries, through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

I totally agree with you, the words of that lovely hymn come to mind" Dear Lord and father of mankind forgive our foolish ways"

May those who have lost their lives rest in eternal peace.

for those who have passed on: Vinchnya Pamiyat.

For everyone else: Kyrie Eleison.

Glad to see you are at least at a safe distance Michael.

Thank you for that sentiment, Joe, and thank you all for joining in prayer.

Yes, I, too, thought of that collect, but thought that posting two would be a little excessive. Your sugestion is perhaps the more appropriate one, as it is the Collect from the Mass for Peace in the Sarum Missal.

O God, from whom all holy desires, all good counsels, and all just works do proceed: Give unto thy servants that peace which the world cannot give; that both our hearts may be set to obey thy commandments, and also that by thee we, being defended from the fear of our enemies, may pass our time in rest and quietness; through the merits of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.

Thank you for your prayers. It's kinda weird in London - a couple of days later everyone seems back to normal, and definitely determined to get on with life, but that massive shift from Wednesday's euphoria to Thursday's grief has left a bit of residual weirdness (the art of the understatement...).

Great blog - will visit again!

Yes, please do. I hope that things settle soon and that the scares in the aftermath soon subside. They shall not win!

It is important in these times to remember that as Christians we are called to turn the other cheek. Yes these were heinous attacks on one of the Christian Countries most dear to my heart (and one of the few that still resembles in some way the ideals of Christendom--IMHO), but what these people want is what the evil one wants--for us to abandon our Faith in the Risen Lord and His teachings.

Yes they shall pay, but Vengence is the Lord's. (although having lost my aunt in 9-11 I know it is not always so easy to say that).
