Hilda

Many of you will remember that, last year, I introduced you to Felicity. Sadly, she died a few weeks later. Something about needing water.

Anyway, after recovering from the trauma of it all, I have decided to take the plunge and adopt a new plant. I would like for you to meet Hilda. She much prefers to be viewed from this angle, though.

I have recently moved house and wanted a rubber plant until somebody told me about Swiss Cheese plants, and I instantly fell in love with the idea. They apparently grow to be quite large so I may well post occasional photographs of Hilda as she grows up. I'm all excited again. I'm also very conscientious about watering her properly. She'll need to be re-potted soon, as well. What fun!

Yes, the move went rather smoothly actually. Thank you. The stuffed toys have been accrued over the years. The most recent addition is David (the rabbit), whom I bought on the ferry on the way back from Lourdes in 2001, after a week of debauc... er, ... devotion and piety. The others are from childhood and the brown bear of no name is older than I am.

Swiss cheese plants, I'm told, can grow up to 20ft in height indoors, so I'm not entirely sure what I'll do when she grows up but we'll see.
