Video

There's a wonderful video here from St Paul's Church, Houston. I thought I'd share because it is quite moving.

The link is a direct link to a .wmv file and will initiate download.

Michael, that's lovely. Do you know what the music is and who is singing it? Thanks for linking.

Hello Keith, :-)

It's the Magnificat to a setting that's a blend between Sarum tone V3 and harmonies. I hadn't heard it before this video but it is truly lovely, so I e-mailed Fr Richard at St Paul's earlier today to ask him just what you asked me. When I hear back I'll let you know.

I hope you're well. :-)

Any word?

It is truly the most beautiful presentation of Western Orthodoxy I've seen yet.

Another question-I understand there was a Western Rite conference in your green and pleasant land not long ago. Any chance this might be a regular occurence?

Pax tecum.

Welcome, Subdeacon Thomas. :-)

There was an Orthodox retreat here earlier in the year. The clergy leading it were visiting from another diocese and were themselves Western Rite, and so the services over the retreat were as well, but that wasn't the core focus of the event.

I'm afraid I haven't heard back from Fr Richard. I was also trying to contact Fr Daniel Keller for over a week recently (although the reasons no longer exist). I'm beginning to suspect that the entire population of Texas has been abducted. (sigh)

Pax,
Michael
